First-Day Instructions
Tell your interns where to go, what to bring, and who to ask for on day one. They see this when they look up their placement.

See who's placed at your worksite — names, ages, contact info, and their start status. Updated as placements firm up.
NYCID AppRe-Verification Form
As needed only — re-open if anything about your worksite changes (cohort, supervisor, capacity, address). Most partners won't touch this again after their initial submission.

Frequently asked questions
Who is my primary point of contact at NYCID?
You'll be assigned a Worksite Monitor. This person is your NYCID liaison and will check in regularly to make sure things are running smoothly. They handle bi-weekly assessments, evaluations, and any paperwork that needs signing.
For general questions before you're assigned, contact Shantell Walker, Job Developer.
How do I review and approve my participants' hours?
All hour approvals happen in the DYCD Worksite Portal. Approval window: Sunday – Monday 11:59 PM every week. Missing this delays your interns' paychecks (we have to file an adjustment).

How do I get my Worksite Portal login?
You'll receive an email from DoNotReply@yepsonline.org with your username and a link to set your password. Check spam/junk — it's a common landing spot.
All supervisors who need access must be listed on your worksite application. The system uses the exact email you provided. If you don't see the email after 24 hours, message your Worksite Monitor.
Heads up — firewall issues: Some organizations (DOE, NYPD, CVS, others with strict IT) block the Worksite Portal. Those need a separate approval. Make sure your NYC.ID account uses the same email as your worksite application.
How do my participants submit their hours?
They log in to the DYCD Participant Site and enter their hours. Window: Wednesday – Saturday 11:59 PM. The site is closed Sun–Tue (payroll runs).
Walkthroughs: Video · Quick-start PDF
How do my participants get paid?
Two options: direct deposit, or a payroll card they pick up from NYCID. Either way they get paid on the standard DYCD pay schedule.
What training have my interns received before they start?
All SYEP participants attend orientation that covers work readiness, professional etiquette, navigating the payroll system, and harassment prevention. Older Youth (18+) get an additional Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (SHPT).
Reference: Hats & Ladders Career Climbs — sample of the topics covered.
Important context: Interns join SYEP to gain real work experience — they're not expected to arrive at the skill level of an experienced employee. Coach them, give clear instructions, and they'll grow fast. That's the point.
How do evaluations work?
Two evaluations per intern: mid-program (Week 3) and end-of-program (Week 6). Your Worksite Monitor provides the partially-completed forms.
Process:
1. Complete the evaluation thoroughly.
2. Meet with the intern in person to walk through it.
3. Both of you sign at the bottom.
4. Return the signed form to your Worksite Monitor.
Grades of 1, 2, or 5 on any category require a comment explaining the rating. Grades of 3 or 4 don't need a comment.
What if there's an incident — police, paramedics, or anything serious?
Call NYCID immediately. Do not wait for a scheduled check-in.
Reach Shantell Walker (Job Developer) first. If she's unreachable, reach Michael De Vito Jr., Executive Director, directly.
For documentation: page 16 of the DYCD Worksite Handbook covers incident reporting in full.
How do I handle performance issues with an intern?
Contact your Worksite Monitor first. Most issues are easier to resolve than they look on day one — the Monitor can mediate, coach, or in rare cases reassign. Don't let it fester until evaluation time.
How do I sign documents electronically?
Whatever works. Adobe Sign, DocuSign, or just sign a printed page, photograph or scan it, and attach the image. We accept all of these.
Need help? We're here.
